The Open Source Initiative (OSI) is spearheading the creation of a new Open Source AI Definition, a critical milestone in AI development. 🆕 Just last week, they released the latest draft of this definition. This initiative brings together global experts from organizations such as Digital Public Goods Alliance, Wikimedia Foundation, Linux Foundation, Microsoft, Google, and Meta to ensure that AI systems can be freely used, studied, shared, and modified—mirroring the principles that have made open-source software a success.

At AINF(https://lnkd.in/gV4ZGTeb), we see this definition as a foundational step toward building a more transparent and equitable AI ecosystem. 🌐 By setting clear standards, we can ensure that AI technologies are developed in ways that are not only innovative but also aligned with ethical principles. 🤝 This initiative will help create an environment where collaboration and openness lead to responsible AI practices, ultimately benefiting society as a whole.
