OpenAI announced price reductions and a performance update for its GPT-5.6 model family, effective July 30, 2026. GPT-5.6 Luna is now 80% cheaper and GPT-5.6 Terra is 20% cheaper via the API. A faster inference option for GPT-5.6 Sol is also now available. The lower prices for Luna and Terra are reflected in usage metering within Codex and ChatGPT Work, meaning users’ token budgets go further in those products.
