In Codex, the model enables browser automation — interacting with web apps, clicking through pages, capturing screenshots, and iterating until tasks are completed. OpenAI states it maintains the same speed as GPT-5.4 while delivering improved intelligence and token efficiency. Anthropic announced Claude now connects to 14 new consumer-focused apps including Spotify, TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Instacart, Uber, Audible, AllTrails, and TurboTax. The integrations allow Claude to perform tasks like playlist creation, travel planning, grocery ordering, and tax preparation assistance. The expansion moves Claude beyond enterprise tools into personal productivity, with apps appearing dynamically within conversations rather than requiring users to switch between programs.

3. Microsoft rolls out Agent Mode as default experience in Copilot for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Microsoft has started rolling out Agent Mode as the default experience for Microsoft 365 Copilot users in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The feature enables Copilot to perform multi-step, app-native actions directly in documents, worksheets, and presentations. Agent Mode allows Copilot to handle tasks like formatting documents, restructuring content, creating visuals, and converting data directly inside the applications, moving beyond simple suggestions to actual execution. The rollout is available for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Premium, Personal, and Family subscription users.
