China AI Native Industry Insights – 20260902 – Tencent | Kling AI | more

Today’s digest spotlights Tencent and its innovations in AI technology. With the release of MIX-STQ1_0, Tencent has managed to compress their Hy4-preview model from a hefty 1.5 TB to just 214 GB. This move aligns with a broader theme of model efficiency and AI integration into enterprise environments. Tencent Meeting’s CLI now connects seamlessly with WorkBuddy and DeepSeek Harness, granting AI agents enhanced access to workplace context. Additionally, the Kling AI API has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 24.96 million calls on Baidu Miaoda’s no-code platform. Discover more in Today’s China AI Native Industry Insights.
1. Tencent Hunyuan releases MIX-STQ1_0 quantized version of Hy4-preview model compressed from 1.5 TB to 214 GB
Tencent Hunyuan released a compressed version of its open-source Hy4-preview model, reducing the weight size from approximately 1.5 TB to 214 GB through two core technologies. The team applied the Sherry sparse ternary quantization algorithm to compress weights to an average of 1.25 bits and the MIX-STQ1_0 mixed precision strategy that determines compression levels layer by layer based on calibration data. Benchmark results show the quantized model maintains performance close to the original BF16 version across mainstream tasks including long-context understanding, multi-turn retrieval, and mathematics, with most evaluation scores within one to two points of the original. The compression significantly lowers hardware requirements, enabling deployment on resource-limited machines and even heterogeneous distributed inference across multiple devices with combined 80 GB VRAM and 64 GB RAM.

2. Tencent Meeting CLI integrates with WorkBuddy and DeepSeek Harness to enable AI agent access to workplace context
Tencent has upgraded its Tencent Meeting CLI to allow integration with AI agents like WorkBuddy and DeepSeek Harness, enabling these tools to access meeting-derived workplace context including ideas, plans, action items, and conclusions. The CLI, which opened in April this year, now covers core meeting functions across pre-meeting setup, in-meeting control, and post-meeting access to recordings, transcripts, and meeting minutes. Users can leverage WorkBuddy to search historical meeting content, automatically generate weekly reports, customized meeting minutes, project handovers, and performance reviews based on meeting data. The integration also supports building custom workbenches for specific use cases such as online teaching, sales visits, HR interviews, and project management.

3. Kling AI API surpasses 24.96 million calls on Baidu Miaoda no-code platform
Kling, an AI video and image generation platform, announced that its API has been called over 24.96 million times on Baidu Miaoda, an AI-native no-code application development platform. Developers are integrating Kling’s capabilities in two main ways: embedding video and image generation directly into applications, or using Kling to batch-generate visual assets for games, interactive narratives, and brand content. The API provides access to models including Kling 3.0 Omni and Kling 3.0 Turbo, and is being used in applications such as Movo for video creation and The Odyssey interactive game. Kling has also launched Agent Market with pre-built agents for e-commerce use cases, and is offering limited-time discounts on API calls through Miaoda until September 15.
