1. Anthropic partners with SpaceX to access Colossus 1 data center with over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs

Anthropic announced a partnership with SpaceX to use all compute capacity at the Colossus 1 data center in Memphis, providing access to more than 300 megawatts of capacity and over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs within the month. The additional compute resources will directly improve capacity for Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers and enable the company to increase usage limits for Claude Code and the Claude API. As part of the agreement, the companies also expressed interest in developing multiple gigawatts of orbital AI compute capacity.

2. xAI launches Image Generation Quality Mode for Grok Imagine API

xAI announced the availability of Image Generation Quality Mode for its Grok Imagine API, targeting enterprise developers and teams. The new mode offers higher realism, stronger text rendering, and better creative control for image generation and editing compared to the standard version. The Quality Mode model has already powered the generation of over 300 million images on the Grok platform. The API is now live and allows business professionals to generate higher quality images programmatically through the xAI platform.

3. OpenAI releases Multipath Reliable Connection networking protocol for AI supercomputer training

OpenAI partnered with AMD, Broadcom, Intel, Microsoft, and NVIDIA to develop MRC (Multipath Reliable Connection), a new networking protocol for large AI training clusters. The protocol improves GPU networking performance by spreading transfers across hundreds of network paths and routing around failures in microseconds. OpenAI released MRC through the Open Compute Project as an open specification to enable broader industry adoption.

4. HeyGen releases HyperFrames catalog with HTML-in-canvas effects and one-command installation

HeyGen announced that their HyperFrames open-source video framework now includes a catalog of HTML-in-canvas effects that users can install with a single command using npx hyperframes add html-in-canvas. HyperFrames allows developers and AI agents to create videos by writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code, which is then rendered into video formats. The framework is designed to be agent-native and provides an alternative to traditional GUI-based video editing tools.
