1. Google releases Gemini-SQL2 text-to-SQL capability achieving 80.04% execution accuracy on BIRD benchmark

Google released Gemini-SQL2, a text-to-SQL capability powered by Gemini 3.1 Pro that achieved 80.04% execution accuracy on the BIRD single-model leaderboard. The capability translates natural language queries into executable SQL commands and represents the first text-to-SQL system to exceed 80% on the highly competitive BIRD benchmark. BIRD is an industry standard benchmark containing over 12,000 question-SQL pairs across 95 databases spanning 37 professional domains. Google has not yet confirmed which products will receive the Gemini-SQL2 capability.

2. NVIDIA Explains World Action Models for Robotics

NVIDIA published an explainer on world action models, or WAMs, a robotics AI approach that learns both how the physical world changes and what actions a robot can take to shape those changes. Unlike vision-language-action models that map observations and instructions directly to actions, WAMs jointly predict future world states and robot actions, using video as a core learning signal. The approach could help robots generalize to unseen tasks, transfer human motion knowledge to machines, and adapt to new embodiments with far less robot-specific data. NVIDIA frames WAMs as a key architecture for physical AI, with Isaac GR00T 2 built on this model family.
